Micro Focus is one of the largest software companies in the world focused directly on the development, production and support of software. It produces high-quality software for business purposes, the main goal of which is the complete management, monitoring, movement and security of data.
Micro Focus was founded in England in 1976 as a company focused on the development and maintenance of the COBOL programming tool. The company developed rapidly and made a series of acquisitions that gradually made it one of the largest software houses in the world. Among the most important are the year 2009 and the acquisition of Borland, the year 2014 and the acquisition of the company Attachmate Group, in which it adds NetIQ, Novell, and SUSE Linux to its portfolio. The year 2016 also becomes an important milestone, when it buys their software division from Hewlett Packard Enterprise and acquires a number of advanced tools for data management and archiving.
