It focuses on Cyber Security and its leading product is a Cyber Security Validation Platform.

Gartner created a new category for this product, ASV (Automated Security Validation). The software platform represents the connection of three categories of products, namely penetration testing, vulnerability management and mitigation management. This is not a simulation, but a real comprehensive security validation. The platform starts where vulnerability scanners leave off.

The platform is currently used by more than 430 customers worldwide.

Disadvantages of Pentera Vulnerability Scanners:

defined types of vulnerability scans
frequent false positives (tester must manually verify)
cannot perform network attacks (PTH, MITM) or password cracking
very noisy, general recommendations
long reports (low reporting value)

Disadvantages of penetration testing against Pentera:

time limitation (it is not possible to go through entire large networks)
the result is only valid for a certain time
low quality of test execution (often tests are performed by junior testers)
human factor (overlooking mistakes, fatigue, knowledge, ...)
financial aspect
susceptibility of data security at an external company

Key benefits:

"Agentless" solution – no agent installation or network reconfiguration required. It uses real exploits as ethical hackers without impacting the infrastructure under test.
Each step that the platform performs is described and explained in detail (mapping on MITER, logbook).
The result of the validation is a detailed step-by-step recommendation according to the criticality of the findings.
He uses current hacking techniques and behaves like an ethical hacker.
